I don’t know how to set a watch and in the BAJA ARAGÓN 2016 ( as in any competition against time) having a sincronized element with the official hour span is essential . The same as knowing how to read a travel book, mark it correctly or having an adequate equipment. I don’t possess any of these superpowers. But when Kike Bonafonte, pilot for SPEED ENERGY suggests that I sit on his right in his proto Dacia Duster to take part in this rendez-vous with the World Cup of Rallys cross country and the Bajas FIM World Cup, I say Yes. As anyone would have done, I guess.

I get my things together. The overall, the boots and the fire-proof underclothes that belong to Aintzane Goñi  and of a size similar to mine. A second set of undershirt, socks and pants (in reality they are like your grandparents long underwear, but I suppose to call them pants is more dignified) comes from Borja Rozada, World Champion of the N Group.  The helmet is Diego Vallejo’s . We’re talking about 3 of the best co-pilots in Spain, so the responsibility is enormous; as a matter of fact, Vallejo is also taking part in the Baja Aragón. The Casio watch belongs to the manager of Top Gear España , Luis Guisado. He tells me that its set as any Casio is. I don’t know what he means.  When we arrive at Teruel, site of the also known as  Baja Spain, we go to get the necessary papers for the checkin. There we find the fearsome  official time schedule . Bonafonte tells me I should sincronize its with my wrist-watch and, pushing all the buttons at the same time, it only takes me ten minutes to do so. After this personal success, everything starts coming in a rush;  you have the photographs and the rest of the story in the “galeria”. There is drama and unexpected changes like in the best of novels
